FIREFLY EXPLORERS
Come explore with us in Chesapeake at Firefly Explorers Nature School! Join us on Tuesdays at a lovely park in the Deep Creek area. From squirrels to mushrooms, each week we’ll cover a different topic within our theme. Classes are designed for 3-5-year-olds (& their caregivers!) and may include nature walks, guided activities, free play, storytime, crafts, mud play, and more!

FARM EXPLORERS
Firefly Explorers is heading to the farm! Join us in this new program as we explore nature in a whole new way! At Farm Explorers, children ages 2-5 (& their caregivers!) with all abilities will have the chance to engage in a hands-on outdoor learning experience all while having fun alongside their caregivers and new farm friends. Farm Explorers will take place once a month at Our Sensory Farm. Classes will include learning about and meeting farm animals, hikes, crafts, story time, sensory activities, and more!
Meet the Teacher
Christiana Veirs is the owner and lead teacher of Firefly Explorers Nature School! Christiana has over 5 years of nature education experience and a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland. She has taught students about everything from macroinvertebrates and ocean zones to acorns and pollinators. Christiana has worked for organizations such as the Virginia Aquarium, Nature Forward (formerly the Audubon Naturalist Society), and the Carrie Murray Nature Center.
Christiana is passionate about getting people of all ages and abilities outdoors enjoying nature. Some of Christiana’s fondest childhood memories include being outside. Christiana writes “these early experiences in nature shaped me into the person I am today. My hope is that I can provide amazing experiences in nature for you and your family, that your children will cherish for years to come.”
